Ten-Percent.co.uk Limited was formed at the beginning of 2000 by 3 lawyers and 1 doctor. It is a legal recruitment consultancy, concentrating on the recruitment of solicitors. One of the directors had been through the recruitment process, and discovered that there was a gap in the market for an online legal recruitment company operating on the web, offering fast, hassle-free service for both candidates and clients. Ten-Percent.co.uk limited was formed, and this website set up. The directors also decided to donate 10% of our annual profits to charity, with a review after 5 years. For the first year of trading (2000-2001) we donated £500 to Rainbows, a children's hospice in Leicestershire. We also raised £200 for Rainbows by completing a sponsored walk in June 2000. Since then we have gone on to donate over £20,000 via the Ten-Percent Foundation, and we hope to increase this year on year as we expand our legal recruitment operations. |

In 2002 we established a charitable trust called the Ten-Percent Foundation. All charitable donations will be made through this in future. For further information about our charitable donations please click here We get over 60,000 hits per month from lawyers and law students. Our costs are low, as we advertise mainly on the internet, on search engines and recruitment sites. We get a significant proportion of our work through personal recommendations from candidates we have already assisted.
The company also owns the Jonathan Fagan Legal Recruitment website (specialists for property, litigation and private client solicitors 1-5 years PQE), Crime Solicitor Recruitment - specialising in crime solicitors, ChanceryLane.co.uk for corporate & commercial solicitors, www.lawyer-recruitment.co.uk and another 5 regional sites.
How does it work?
We are already aware of a lot of vacancies and seek out new positions all the time. When you register with us, we let the firms in the area you seek employment know that we have a candidate looking for a particular type of work, and give them a reference number. If interested, they contact us, and we let you know the firm's details. If you are interested, we contact the firm and arrange an interview for you, letting the firm know your name at that point.
We do not send out personal details, and never identify you prior to you giving us consent to reveal your name to firms. We are particularly successful in the regions, but regularly place candidates in the City and in Greater London. Our service is different to the normal recruitment consultancy. We do not pressure you into accepting positions or interviews, but instead make you aware of the opportunity to speak to interested firms.
We do not have a quota of CV's to send out, there are no targets for us to reach, we do not employ salespeople to "sell" candidates, and we are pleased for you regardless of how you obtain work (ie with or without our services).

Our Directors
Jonathan Fagan LLM, LLB (EU), Cert RP, MREC is a solicitor (non-practising) and Managing Director of Ten-Percent.co.uk Limited. He studied law at Leicester University and Frankfurt University before training with a small high street practice in Leicester. On qualification he worked for a Chambers listed firm in Nottingham, before taking a full time role in Ten-Percent Legal. He has personally assisted many solicitors and legal executives find new posts across the UK and occasionally overseas, and also prepares CVs for a range of people in the profession, from senior partners to law students.
Pearl McNamara is the Finance Director of Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment, managing our accounts department. She coordinates our recruitment campaigns and is often the first point of call for candidates and clients. Pearl also operates our secretarial branches and external transcription services, and coordinates our work across the Ten-Percent Group of websites.
Clare Fagan assists with the management and strategic development of the company.
