Our consultant is available to give you specialist advice. To date we have assisted clients looking to enter the profession from other walks of life and unsure about which career path to take or how to go about it, students unsure as to which field of law to specialise in and whether choices made at degree level affect later career prospects, overseas lawyers wanting to work in the UK, mature entrants wanting assistance in identifying sources of legal work and experience, and LPC graduates unable to obtain a training contract. We have also assisted solicitors looking to change careers and trainee solicitors who want to move firms or change specialisms. 

Please note: we do not run this service at a profit - we charge at cost (time taken for our consultant to travel to see you, time spent in consultation and subsequently handling queries and giving advice, as well as preparing a report). We offer the service as we have an active interest in assisting people find work or make career decisions, and it gets our Managing Director out of the office! We will decline to offer the service if we feel that it is unsuitable or not necessary. People who have used us over the years come back again and again for impartial and free advice as their career progresses.

The service is recommended for LLB, LPC, CPE, A Level, GCSE, BTEC, HND students and graduates unsure of where to go or turn, mature entrants into the profession, and any other people looking or thinking of a fresh start in law transferring from other professions. 

We also assist solicitors, barristers, legal executives and overseas lawyers wanting advice on career moves and progression. Each session can be tailored to focus on different issues, for example career planning, deciding on a career path, changing specialisms, CV preparation, interview advice, career changes, moving out of the legal profession, improving job prospects etc.. 

The service consists of a 2 hour consultation covering the following:

• Career progression and assessment of your current situation.

• Advice regarding finance, salary levels and long term plans*

• Advice on local opportunities, information and contacts 

• A personal career plan and strategy for progressing your legal career.  

• Advice on work/life balance.

• Advice on job searches and assistance in locating and obtaining work experience 

• A detailed report within 14 days covering all aspects of the consultation and advice. 

• Unlimited email support post-consultation (some clients stay in touch for years)

• Practice Interview (if relevant and required) together with assessment and feedback. 

• Free CV Review, covering letter review and application form review.

The consultations last up to 2 hours. 

The cost of the consultation is £210.99 incl. VAT.
