What does 'CV Review' mean? The CV Review service offers you the chance to have your CV, covering letter and application forms reviewed by an impartial professional recruitment consultant and solicitor with lengthy experience of lawyer and law student recruitment. It is often the case for lawyers and law students that there is nobody who can offer them an impartial look at their CV and covering letter. Lawyers ask friends, work colleagues and family, who need to be polite with their replies, and law students ask their tutors, some of whom last worked as lawyers in 1976. We are specialist legal recruitment consultants, operated and owned by solicitors. Ten-percent.co.uk is the UK's only online legal recruitment consultancy. We see many hundreds of CV's each week, some good, some dreadful. We can review your CV for you to help you stand out from the crowd. We review and advise on CV's for a wide range of people, from partners of large city law firms to law students who are completing their A-levels. What do you do with my CV?We read it through as if we were recruiting for an actual job, providing you with an initial report of what we thought of it. After this, we read it through again, noting in more detail the information you have on the CV. Finally, we go through the details very carefully, considering how you could improve the content, layout, style and tone of the CV. How long does it take?We usually offer a return time of 96 hours, and give you a confirmed time on receipt of your payment. If you have a particular deadline you are working to please give us a ring before placing your order. If you are not satisfied with the estimated return time given, we guarantee a full refund. Your statutory rights are not affected by this. What does it cost?£85 inclusive of VAT. What if I am not satisfied with your advice?It may be that you do not like criticism, however positive we have been with it, or that our advice is basically that your CV is very good! We will contact you on receipt of your payment, or you can email the CV through to cv@tenpercent.co.uk If you wish to send us your CV by post or fax, there is an additional £15.00 fee which must be paid by cheque when sending us the CV. Is it suitable for me?If you are one of the following, applying for positions in law firms it is suitable: Student intending to apply for legal positions, whether vacation work, voluntary work, training contracts, paralegal positions or pupilage. Solicitors, paralegals, trainee solicitors, barristers, training contract applicants, pupilage applicants, legal executives, legal secretaries, office managers, practice managers, chief executives, administrative support staff. I am applying for charity, in-house, local authority or overseas positions - can you assist?Yes - we advise on CV's in these areas for lawyers. We advise on CV's for all overseas lawyers, mainly in the Commonwealth and Europe. What do I get back?1. Your CV, endorsed with our comments. 2. Advice on how to improve the CV. 3. Careers advice based on the information on your CV. 4. A report, indicating where we think your CV stands in comparison with the majority of those we receive, and how successful we think you would be applying with the CV in its' present state. 5. Further CV Advice for a maximum of one month after submitting your CV. We provide any further advice for this period free of charge. 6. Your Covering Letter reviewed and returned with full advice and suggestions for improvement. 7. Application forms (maximum of two) reviewed and returned with advice and suggestions.
