Location Reports

The aim of the location report is to write about an area for the benefit of someone considering relocating, both from a social, economic and legal viewpoint. We want to know about the economic status of the area - which parts are considered affluent, which parts are deprived, what residents think (quotations always very handy), the law firms and types of firms in each area - coverage of how many are Legal 500 listed, and how many are Chambers and Partners listed and who, what type of law comes up, what are the main industries there. We also want to know about the travelling - trains - how many to London, hotels - what quality are they and a couple of examples, house prices - how much they have increased in recent years and why - any reasons.

We want the court addresses and links, the local CPS offices, the Land Registry, the LSC office covering the area. We want to know what the crime levels are like, what environmental issues there are if any, and the history of the area in a nutshell together with any interesting facts.

Most importantly, we want to know personal thoughts on the area - chance to write what you think and why - what appeals to you about the location, and what personal knowledge or memories help you recommend the place to others? Quotations from you or anyone you know are again very good. Your favourite restaurants, football teams, sporting activities, cinemas etc.. all welcome.

We are particularly interested in quotations from solicitors in the area already, and would want you to email, ring or call on at least one solicitors firm to interview a solicitor - what do they think of the area, and how do they see law firms developing there. What issues are affecting them in practice? As this is a news article and you can explain when you call that you are researching the area from a legal perspective, this shouldn't be a problem, and may also get you a foot in the door for later!

We also require lots of hyperlinks - anything you refer to - if it has a website - we want a hyperlink in the text - if you don't know how to do these - dont worry - you can just type out the website address in brackets. We use a text comparison tool, so if you take any information from the internet, you need to make sure you don't copy it word for word!

We will pay £25 per essay, which needs to be at least 3,000 words. If you get an interview with a solicitor, and we publish your essay and name the lawyer and his/her firm, we will pay an additional £10.

Assessment of Law Schools

We want to know what you and your colleagues think of your law school - how well organised are the lecturers, what facilities are there, how was the law school rated in any inspections, and what personal thoughts have you all got - pubs, clubs, sporting activities etc... Same rate as above - need to do about 3000 words.

Other Essays

Rate as above. Contact us for further details.

Applications

To take matters further, simply email us your CV to cv@tenpercent.co.uk together with a note of a recent essay mark, and we will get back in touch. Payment for the essays will be made by cheque on satisfactory completion.
