We have a database of locum solicitors who are able to assist with assignments or contracts of 4 weeks or longer. Click here to register your vacancy.  

Information for Candidates

TP Locum Services offer support to firms looking for lawyers for short term contracts, whether for holiday cover, extended annual leave, employee departure, retirement from practice, sickness or maternity leave. We prefer not to deal with assignments of less than a month, unless for a regular client with an urgent requirement. Register for Locum work - click this link to send us your CV and provide details of the work you are looking for.

Once you have completed this, please ensure that you send us through the following pieces of information: 1) A photocopy of your passport or driving licence, 2) a copy of a recent utility bill or similar, and 3) a copy of your current practising certificate if relevant. These can be faxed or emailed through to us on 01352 810554. If you have any references (in the form of a "to whom it may concern" letter), please fax these through as well.  

We do not employ locums; instead each company or firm will contract directly with you, whether as a self-employed consultant, or through their PAYE systems. Normally locums are covered on the firm or company's own professional indemnity certificate, but it is important you check this on commencement of any assignment. 

Once you have registered with us, we keep your details on our online database, and this is available to firms looking for locums - the database gives brief details of your experience, fields of law, specialisms and location. We also try to provide a daily rate if available when the firms make their initial enquiries.
